Microsoft:
Metal Gear Solid on the Xbox:
Sony fans have to be pissed and Xbox fans must be pretty excited. Xbox fans have been waiting for the Metal Gear saga to come over to their platform for awhile and now its going to happen. As of writing there is no announcement that this game is coming out for PS3 which is somewhat shocking to me. Microsoft has always had Splinter Cell in its corner and now it has double the stealth goodness with Metal Gear?! Wow.
I seriously doubt that Kojima would screw his fans though, I expect either this game to be announced for the PS3 as well or we will see a special enhanced version of the game for the PS3 much like we saw with Metal Gear Solid 2 for the original Xbox.
Alan Wake:
This game just screams awesome and was long though to be going the route of Duke Nukem Forever. Not so, as at E3 the game returned with a brand new trailer. It looks freakishly awesome.
Halo ODST and Halo Reach:
I haven’t played Halo 3 in almost a year, but its nice to hear the series will continue with another game even after ODST. The story of Reach is very well documented in Halo history and it will be interesting to see how it plays out on a visual scale. Also, I’ve heard that people are pissed that Bungie is charging 60 bucks for ODST when they said its more of an expansion pack. If you know the rabid fan following of the series though, then you know people are going to buy it anyways.
Modern Warfare 2:
More modern Call of Duty, give it to me baby!
Splinter Cell:
Good to see Sam Fisher back in action, I’m a huge fan of the series and will definitely be picking this up. Its good to see that the series didn’t take a dive into the Assassin’s Creed style of play.
The odd:
Project Natal:
Don’t know what to say about this one. The concept looks like cool, but the demo that was shown really looks like nothing more then a…well a concept! I guess we will see how it develops, but I hope developers don’t stray away from using regular controllers on all three platforms now.
Overall, it looks like Microsoft has the edge at E3 this year.
Thoughts on the other platforms will be coming soon.
