Author: unleadedlogic  //  Category: Uncategorized

Yup! Another Resident Evil movie is due out, but this time its CG and looking pretty good! I don’t think this will have a theater release, if it does it would probably be pretty limited. I’m pretty pumped for this, hopefully it will be out this Halloween.

Free music download: Military Man

Author: unleadedlogic  //  Category: Uncategorized

Some of you may remember the game I did some music for by the name of Cannibal. The game went through a 360 to PC makeover, got handed over to Gametap, got handed back to developers, went back to Gametap and finally Gametap pulled the plug on the whole project, wasting a team’s two years worth of work and ultimately causing the two lead developers to split from each other. Meanwhile, I got to sit back and watch my first score get tossed around in the fun realm of music licensing.

Unless Gametap suddenly hands the project to new developers, the final mixes of some of the tracks will never be heard, but I can share with you guys the near finished versions and one of those tracks are being released today.

The first track is Military Man and as much as I’d love to tell you where the track fits into the game, I can’t for legal reasons. Fun eh? I will say that it deals with reflection, sadness and revenge. There you go! Enjoy!

Two Unleaded Logic tracks being "considered" for a commercial compilation

Author: unleadedlogic  //  Category: Uncategorized

I just received word that TWO of my tracks are being "Considered" for commercial release for an electronic music compilation CD. The two tracks being considered are "Tears Echo and "Cinematic Showdown" both on my latest album Ergo.

The compilation that these tracks could be released on is by dmixed.com, who also publish BPM magazine on a monthly basis. After checking the site out, I’m honestly a little shocked. For some reason bookstores out here stopped putting out BPM magazine on the newsstands and I figured that the magazine had ceased publishing; but it seems that everything is all and well with them. They also just celebrated 12th birthday, wow! Has it really been that long already?

Anyway, I replied back to the email that was sent to me with details about the licensing of my tracks and what rights and ownership I have of the them. 100 percent baby! 100 percent!

Needless to say, I’m psyched and I hope it happens. It would be a little strange, but freaking awesome to see a commercial for a CD, in a magazine that my friends and I read cover to cover back when we just started out in a upcoming issue. Is that even a proper sentence? Most likely not…oh well.

Halo Points Program details are released!

Author: unleadedlogic  //  Category: Uncategorized

McFarlane Toys has FINALLY revealed what Halo 3 toy collectors can redeem with their Halo Points! For those who don’t know what I’m taking about, Halo points are on the back of each package of Halo figures and certain figures contain a certain amount of Halo Points; some more then others.

Halo 3 series 1 came with points but with no explanation of what was going to be done with them. Series 2 was just released and now we thankfully have some solid info on what we can get. The bad news is that we can’t redeem the points for a couple of months! Winter 2008 to be exact.

Lets take a look at some of the prizes shall we?

Halo Points offers a wide selection of rewards, from low-point value items for casual buyers to highly exclusive items for the die-hard collectors. From art for your wall to a complete figure for your display case, there’s something for everyone. Currently, the program includes the following rewards:

Halo 3 Lithograph - 100 points
Redemption Period Begins Winter 2008
This limited-edition lithograph features original artwork by McFarlane Toys’ own famous comic book artist, Greg Capullo. Suitable for framing. this work of art is exclusively available through the Halo Points program. More details and images to come.

Hayabusa Katana and Scabbard - 175 points
Redemption Period Begins Winter 2008
In the game Halo 3, the Hayabusa katana is a true badge of honor, available only after a player has unlocked every achievement in the game. Now, bring that same trophy to your action figure collection with this unique accessory. Featuring a removable katana, your figure can even do what’s impossible in the game: hold the sword in its hands. Scabbard comes with a peg that attaches to the back of any Spartan figure. Spartan figure not included.

Spartan Recon Armor (red) - 225 points
Redemption Period Begins Winter 2008
So you’ve finished the fight. Unlocked all 49 achievements. Maybe even risen to the rank of General. But let’s face it, there’s one in-game reward you’ll probably never get: the coveted Recon armor set. In the game, it’s available only to Bungie employees and select tournament winners and other honorees. But now, thanks to Halo Points, you can finally have Recon. This set includes a Recon helmet, chestplate, and both shoulders for your favorite Spartan figure, in bright "team one" red. Spartan figure not included.

Spartan Recon Armor (blue) - 250 points

With other collectors finally getting the legendary Recon armor set, maybe you want something a bit more distinctive. Fear not! For you, there’s the Recon armor in blue. This set includes a Recon helmet, chestplate, and both shoulders for your favorite Spartan figure, in bright "team two" blue. Spartan figure not included.

Spartan Recon Armor (active camo) - 300 points
Redemption Period Begins Winter 2008
What could be better than finally obtaining the pinnacle of Halo 3 armor? How about wearing Recon, then being invisible so no one can see it. You’re not just showing off. You’re the best. This set includes a Recon helmet, chestplate, and both shoulders for your favorite stealthy Spartan figure, in clear "active camo." Spartan figure not included.

Master Chief (metallic gold) - 500 points
Redemption Period Begins Winter 2008
Who could be more fitting as the top reward in the Halo Points program than the star of the Halo trilogy, Master Chief himself? Our regular Chief figures feature Spartan 117 in his distinctive green armor, but this metallic gold version is only available through Halo Points. Figure is fully packaged on a special edition blister card (not yet pictured). Show your devotion to all things Halo with this truly one-of-a-kind trophy.

Honestly, I don’t care much for the Recon Parts, especially when it doesn’t actually come with a figure. The sword is somewhat cool, but I got my eyes on the limited print and the Gold figure! GOLD BEYOTCH!

E3.

Author: unleadedlogic  //  Category: Uncategorized

I’ve received a few requests for my views on E3 this year and I’ll be letting people know those very thoughts tomorrow on another post. If anything is to be said right now, I’ve found this year’s E3 to be a little lackluster and a little dry on stuff that is coming out for this year. Yes, I know E3 is about showcasing what is coming up next year; but if you think about E3’s from a few years past, we’ve had a lot of awesome information on games that were also coming out the same year.

My full thoughts, tomorrow.

Bionic Commando OST review.

Author: unleadedlogic  //  Category: Uncategorized

BCR-soundtrack-coverBionic Commando: Reloaded is due out sometime this year on Xbox Live Arcade with much anticipation, in fact I’d say this game has more demand going for it then the current next-gen remake of it that is also due out this year.

For those of you who never played or are too young to remember it, Bionic Commando debuted on the NES system in 1988 and featured many original game mechanics, not to mention kick butt graphics, sound and one hell of  a final boss. (Hitler!) As a young child, I often use to revisit many of the levels because I was absolutely enthralled with the game soundtrack, mostly due to its very melodic tunes that were only rivaled back then by Castlevania. Needless to say, when the new trailer debuted for Bionic Commando with some remixed and revamped music of the original, I felt like I was 5 again. When the announcement came that an official OST (Original Sound Track) was being released, I contacted Capcom with the request to listen and review it and they were happy to oblige.

Composed by Simon Viklund, This revamped soundtrack takes all of the tracks of the original and throws in an excellent electronic music twist to it. Some of the tunes retain that classic blip and blop of the original, but they are intertwined with modern synth patches making it sound just as fresh as they were back in 1988. Electronic music has many, many sub-genres so if I were to compare it with other artists it would be a mix of Unleaded Logic, Crystal Method and Mind.In.A.Box. This is exactly how I would of approached doing a remake of this game’s soundtrack. Overall, this makes for a rewarding audio experience that can be enjoyed even if your not playing the game. My favorite tracks are "Heat Wave", "Leap of Faith" and "Intruder."

Overall, if your looking to hear some Bionic Commando in full "Reloaded" glory, go and pick this soundtrack! You can currently pick it up on Itunes and you can preview the entire songs here: http://www.bioniccommando.com/music_player.php?loc=us

While your at it, you should check out some Unleaded Logic music too! Shameless self promotion indeed, ha! http://unleadedlogic.com/?page_id=129

1. "Bionic Commando Rearmed (Main Theme)" 3:32
2. "Heat Wave" 3:50
3. "Power Plant" 3:38
4. "Leap of Faith" 2:42
5. "Rise of the Albatross" 4:59
