Chipped Tunes (New video series.)

Author: unleadedlogic  //  Category: Uncategorized

Unleaded Logic Dot Com introduces yet another video series, this time focusing on one of the pivotal portions in any video game: The music.

Chipped Tunes will focus on video game music from both the past and the present, from classic chip tunes from the Commodore 64 and NES to the live instrument music that is featured on modern day consoles; the video series hopes to provide the very best selections in game music.

The video series is hosted by Mike Mertes, a long time gamer and musician. Every episode, Mike will introduce the game and provide some insight on the platform the game was released on and some information on the composers when ever possible.

Wii Hacking.

Author: unleadedlogic  //  Category: Uncategorized

If you follow my blog, you know I have a ton of games systems, but what many people don’t know is what system I use the least. Easily, its Nintendo’s latest game system, Wii. Why? Game wise there just isn’t much that appeals to me on there and while the virtual console is great, I’d rather just buy the real game carts for the original systems then buy the digital stuff. However, now that the Wii has been out for awhile and hackers have had a chance to toy around with it; homebrew items have been popping up like crazy for it. Now you can play emulated games, watch DVD’s and set the Wii up for network capability to stream your movies, music and more. Finding out that there was a new way to hack the system that didn’t require a copy of the newest Zelda got me interested in hacking the system and just a few hours ago, I tried it with great success.

In just less than 30 minutes I was playing NES games on a emulator and I thought it looked fantastic and played great with the retro controller. SNES games played great as well and I was pretty excited that I was able to watch some of my digital movie files right from the memory card slot. The fact that they have an app that will let you download brand new homebrew software right on the Wii is awesome! What a great homebrew community the Wii has for it. Now I have a great multimedia system on the first floor if we want to watch movies or play some old school games.

Now could I use this for piracy and play burned games? Sure. Will I bother? Most likely not. Maybe to try the occasional import game, but that would be about it. I’m more enthralled that I’m able to use the emulators on the thing than anything else. My interest in the Wii system just picked up big time.

After a boat load of problems, we are back! I’ll upload a video shortly explaining the issues.

Hear Freedom for 24 hours!

Freedom, the lead track off the brand new Unleaded Logic release has been uploaded to Youtube for 24 hours! Check the track out and be sure to spread the word! The Freedom EP comes out September/October!!!

Freedom breaks the chains of a single and turns into a EP.

Its amazing how quickly things can keep getting bigger isn’t it? (That sounds bad…) I submitted Freedom to the music label about a week ago and they were blown away with how awesome it was. A few days later, I’m informed that there will be an exclusive UK Radio remix with it and to top it off I was already doing my own remix of it anyways. The label was impressed and Freedom went from a two track single to a 5 track single.

What about Hush Hush though? Would it get lost in the shuffle with a dual single release? What could? be done to assure that won’t happen.

So to remedy any possible confusion, we’re combining both the Hush Hush single and Freedom to form one big EP.

The Freedom EP will contain 7 tracks:

1. Freedom: featuring Cassie Nelson (Original Mix)

2. Like Love

3. Hush Hush

4. Dr. Smith and Mr. Hyde

5. Freedom: featuring Cassie Nelson (UK Radio Mix)

6. Freedom: featuring Cassie Nelson (Radio Edit)

7. Freedom: featuring Cassie Nelson (Mike Mertes Unchained Remix)

The EP will be forthcoming on many digital music sellers.

A new paint job.

This weekend I decided that I was going to give my arcade cab a new color scheme. Picking up some paint, a few rollers and a few brushes I was ready to go and the overall result wasn’t too bad. I’m a big fan of Neo-Geo and while I don’t actually own any Neo-Geo machines, I figured I’d try to match the color scheme of the company’s arcade machines which is mostly red and black. It sure beats the plain black that the machine had on it before. I’m not impressed with how the coin door turned out and I will most likely change that back to black. Overall though, I’m pleased. Now I just have to get some side art.

Halo returns to the comic book scene with Halo: Helljumper. A 5 issue comic series that will hopefully take away the tarnish that the Halo Uprising series left us with its 4 issues of failure.

Unleaded Logic checks out the first issue and reports the results.

"Comics legend Peter David and up-and-coming artist Eric Nguyen bring a whole new HALO story to life! When the colony planet Ariel sends out a mysterious distress signal, its up to the UNSCs elite, highly skilled special-ops Marines, the Orbital Drop Shock Troopers from the 105th, to find out whats happening. Also known as ODSTs or Helljumpers, these soldiers are some of the toughest in the galaxyand some of the roughest as well. When the distress signal comes, two Helljumpers will find themselves at the center of the mystery on Ariel, and before its solved, theyll have to put their friendship—and their lives—on the line "
