SNES Power Pak Issue #1 (Resolved)

Author: unleadedlogic  //  Category: Uncategorized

This issue has been resolved. The reason the cart wouldn’t not boot after the reformat and replacement of the PowerPak directory is because the files on the site were not up to date yet. RetroZone replied to my email very quickly and informed me that they updated the site. After downloading, reformatting and reloading, we are up and running again! ISSUE RESOLVED!

This morning I had my first issue with the SNES Power Pak. At the moment I currently can not play games on it. Right now, the only thing I get when I turn it on is this:

untitled-1 My first order of business was to contact support at RetroZone, which I did so by email at: retrozone @ retrousb.com. Due to it being Thanksgiving Week, I doubt I will get a response till Monday, but we’ll see. Here’s the email I sent the explains the issue in detail:

Hi there,

Received my SNES Power Pak today, loaded roms on it with no issue…was playing with in 10 minutes. Loaded up Front Mission Gun Hazard this evening and got to the first point I could save. I went ahead and held down the reset button for 5 seconds so I could write the data to the battery. After telling it yes, the cart restarted with the following error:

untitled-1

Upon resetting, I received the same message. I plugged in the CF card to my pc card reader and discovered that the only directory that remained on the card was a GHZ directory, which I would assume was from Gun Hazard. I formatted the card and downloaded the powerpak directory again onto the card, but still receive the same message. The cart is recognizing when the card is not plugged in and when its plugged in, but even with the proper directory on there, it still gives the config error. I looked in the manual and didn’t see anything about this error message. What needs to be done to get this going again?

So, I may be missing something very obvious or I may have to send it back for a new unit. We’ll see. I’ll update you guys as the info comes.

Please note: This was not posted in any negative fashion towards RetroZone or the makers of this cart, its simply to provide a record of the issues I ran into and how they were handled. Also, the reader should note that at the time this was posted, the cart just hit the market and as one can expect there can always be bugs lurking that were not discovered during testing. I firmly believe that this issue will be fixed or the cart replaced as RetroZone has a great reputation.

Beaterator voting ends soon!

Author: unleadedlogic  //  Category: Uncategorized

I’ve been getting many messages from people saying that they went ahead and voted for the Beaterator contest! If you haven’t voted yet, you still have a few days left!

Go here: http://beaterator.ign.com/

Then click on register, sign up for an account and vote 10 for Unleaded Logic!

I’ve been taking a look at the rules just to verify some things:

“Beaterator composition will be judged based on the following criteria: User Voting 25%, Creativity/Originality 25%; Use of the Beaterator Software 25%, and Musical Talent 25%.”

Even if I do have a low amount of votes, I still have a 75 percent chance to win, which is nice.

Sponsor and its designated Contest Judges will independently evaluate and judge all eligible first round Entries received and select the first round winners on or about October 14, 2009.

The second round of Entries will be reviewed and a potential winner will be selected on or about November 20, 2009.

I wasn’t contacted till October 20th about being a semi-finalist, so it will be interesting to see how long it takes for them to contact a winner.

Keep voting folks, they never said a thing about multiple votes not being allowed. :)

Thank you all for your support!

The Freedom EP CD release date

Author: unleadedlogic  //  Category: Uncategorized

The Freedom EP is doing well and continues to get bought from customers on iTunes and other digital music outlets. It seems that Amazon is the most popular place to purchase it from and that may be because no interface is required to be downloaded to get it. I’d like to thank all the fans, new and old who support my music! Your continued support allows me to continue doing this and further advance my experience in multiple ways!

IMG_1019

I have received many requests asking when a CD version of the Freedom EP will be released and while there will be a CD release for it, it will not be till February of 2010. How come? We want to be able to provide an extra bonus to those who wait to pick up the CD version of it. Plus, the label likes to time its releases carefully as to make sure that each artist gets 100 percent focus from the marketing team and nothing less. I agree with them on that, they have done a fantastic job promoting the Freedom EP!

As is stands, the CD cover is done, we are just finalizing the track list. More to come folks!
